Alexandra Morgan Carrasco (American professional soccer player) plays as a striker. She also serves as the captain of San Diego Wave FC of National Women's Soccer League, the highest division for professional women's soccer. From 2018 to 2020, she was co-captained the American women's national soccer team with Megan Rapinoe. [8][99 Morgan was picked as number one in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she completed her degree early at the University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. She made her professional debut at the club and was instrumental in helping the team win the league championship. Morgan was 22 at the time, and was one of the youngest players on the national team in the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011. The team finished second. Morgan scored the game-winning goal in the semi-final match against Canada in the semi-final match at the 2012 London Olympics. She ended 2012 with 28 goals, 21 assists and Mia Hamm was the only American woman to score both 20 and 20 goals. It made her the sixth-youngest U.S. player ever to score 20 goals in a single season. Following her selection as the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the year Morgan was also selected as a FIFA World Player of the Award finalist. Morgan was also instrumental in the United States winning their titles at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups and the FIFA Women's World Cup in 2019. She was selected to both the Dream Team for both tournaments. In 2019, she won the Silver Boot.
